What is sprayed concrete?
Sprayed concrete (also known as “shotcrete”) is a method of applying concrete through a nozzle at a high velocity onto a surface that is already strengthened with reinforcement or steel wire mesh.
It offers all the advantages of standard concrete materials, such as high tensile strength, durability, fire retardation, low permeability, and thermal efficiency, but it will outperform most standard concrete construction as its direct application to the surface increases density and enhances its characteristics.
Benefits of spray concrete
Why Choose Spray Concrete?
-
Its Fast Application Saves Time
Spray Concrete is a faster application and hardens quickly. Professional contractors apply high-pressure air or water, enabling it to be applied rapidly and efficiently
-
It is cost effective
Spray concrete can be applied quickly and effectively, minimising lengthy distributions and labour costs, making it cost effective.
-
Less Formwork
Unlike traditional concrete, that usually requires formwork and shutters to build up, spray concrete is much more flexible and versatile and minimal formwork is required, saving time and money.
-
Provides High Strength and Durability
Concrete is renowned for its high strength, durability, and its capacity to withstand heavy loads and sever weather conditions.
-
Easy to Apply
Because spray concrete is sprayed into place, it provides the ability to access restricted spaces and difficult to reach difficult area.
-
Sustainability
The spray concrete mix can contain high percentages of recycled material, while its high thermal mass makes for more energy efficient structures.
-
Any Shape
There is no limit to the design you can achieve with this versatile concrete type, this is why its great for pool building.
-
Adaptability
Almost any surface is suitable for applying spray concrete to: wood, steel, plastic soil and rock
-
Repair
As spray concrete provides better surface finishing, it can often be used for repair of damaged concrete surface, wood or steel.
-
Slope Stabilisation and Erosion Control
Spray concrete can be applied to steep slopes and hillsides to prevent soil erosion and landslides. Additionally, it can stabilize soil and rock to prevent a pitches collapse or retaining wall failure.

Sean Durkin
"I couldn't be happier with the results from the Ces and the amazing team at SprAcon. Our pool was technical, included a spa, needed peers, and was not a straightforward job. The team and sub contractors involved just took it all in their stride and made it happen. The results speak for themselves and everything works brilliantly. We couldn't be happier."
